Role Summary

  • Full-time special consulting position at the Center for Computational Thinking and Design (CCTD), a collaboration between the School of Communication and Culture (CC) and the Department of Computer Science (CS) at Aarhus University
  • Place of employment: Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University
  • Project co-funded by CC and CS
  • Daily work in the context of CCTD and The National Knowledge Center for Digital Technology Comprehension (https://tekforstaa.dk/)
  • Objective: Contribute to a shared research-based knowledge foundation for national stakeholders in digital technology comprehension education for K-12
  • Role involves research in computing education, development of educational tools and activities for computational thinking in K-12, and management/coordination of research and dissemination activities with external partners

Expected Start Date and Duration

  • Full-time position from 01.02.2026 to 31.01.2028

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to scientific research in Computing Education/Computational Thinking Research
  • Collaborate with scientists in both CC and CS departments
  • Manage and coordinate activities in an interdisciplinary research center

Requirements

  • Preferably a PhD/Postdoc in Computing Education or Computer Science
  • Experience with conducting computing education research at different educational levels
  • Research experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Interaction design for computing education
    • Design-based educational research
    • Educational technology research for teaching computing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on research projects, both nationally and internationally
  • Experience with coordinating research activities across multiple stakeholders and disciplines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
