This role requires a physiotherapist with a strong interest and preferably experience in palliative physiotherapy, focusing on patients with severe, life-threatening, and incurable illnesses receiving care in their own homes. The position involves working under a §2-agreement between Danske Fysioterapeuter and Region Syddanmark, providing specialized palliative care on the island of Ærø, with affiliation to the palliative team at Odense University Hospital (OUH) on Funen. Key competencies include delivering symptom relief such as pain management, dyspnea, functional loss, bodily restlessness, body awareness, energy management, edema treatment, and positioning. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, requiring the physiotherapist to coordinate closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals. The candidate must be able to initiate treatment promptly, within five working days of referral. Participation in ongoing professional development is expected, including six annual sparring meetings and one regional thematic day, with team guidance and an introductory program provided at the start. The position offers part-time hours, up to approximately 10 per week, with remuneration managed by the regional practice department, including coordination and quality assurance fees plus travel allowances. Daily reporting lines are to the head nurse of the palliative team.
