About the role
Role Summary
- Join a global team responsible for building, configuring, and maintaining Danske Bank’s mainframe infrastructure
- Operate the largest parallel SysPlex in the Nordic region
- Focus on service availability, operational efficiency, and robustness through duplicated infrastructure and system configurations
- Position based in Denmark (Aarhus or Copenhagen)
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop multi-site mainframe configuration, operations, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions
- Adopt industry best practices and modern technologies
- Ensure a cost-effective mainframe platform with continuous infrastructure service availability
- Support Mainframe Infrastructure and Middleware teams in strategy for maintenance and modernization
- Influence and shape the strategic infrastructure target state with Mainframe Services management
- Define and implement infrastructure standards; educate other engineers on standards, processes, tools, and DR strategy
- Research and recommend tools and product suites to improve productivity and mainframe usability
- Enforce automation at all levels
- Ensure a high level of security
Requirements
- Strong experience in installation, customization, maintenance, and support of large IBM z/OS mainframe operating systems and components
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of multi-system IBM mainframe Parallel SysPlex environments
- Knowledge of multi-OS configuration (zOS, zVM, zLinux)
- Strong infrastructure understanding of core zOS, middleware components, and interoperability
- Extensive experience in high availability and disaster recovery deployment strategies
- Self-motivation and commitment to continuous innovation
- Strong analytical skills and ability to diagnose and resolve mainframe problems
- Ability to plan, schedule, and manage assigned tasks and projects
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation skills
