The role demands hands-on involvement in day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll, across multiple international locations (Denmark, US, Canada, Singapore). The controller will build and manage key SaaS metrics such as MRR, churn, and LTV/CAC, supporting strategic decision-making and driving financial transparency across four group companies. The candidate should be comfortable acting as a trusted sparring partner to the CFO and senior stakeholders, providing clear financial perspectives and constructive challenge. Leadership skills are required to manage a small finance team and drive improvements in financial systems and workflows. Experience liaising with external partners like auditors, tax professionals, and banks to ensure compliance and accurate reporting is necessary. Preferred qualifications include international or growth-oriented experience and professional certifications such as Cand.merc.aud., CMA, CPA, or ACCA. Role Summary
Join the MapsPeople Finance team as a Business Controller, acting as a strategic partner to the business and playing a central role in financial operations. Work closely with the CFO, Finance Manager, and Finance Assistant to support decision-making and drive financial transparency across four group companies.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage key SaaS metrics (MRR, churn, LTV/CAC)
- Own the financial forecasting process
- Deliver strategic financial reports to the executive team and board
- Advise department heads with financial insights for decisions on product pricing, marketing spend, and operational efficiency
- Conduct financial due diligence, create valuation models, and integrate financials for M&A activities
- Oversee or assist day-to-day financial operations (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll) across Denmark, US, Canada, and Singapore (during Finance Manager's maternity leave)
- Prepare and present accurate monthly financial reports to leadership
- Manage and forecast company cash flow
- Lead a small team, ensuring efficient and accurate financial processes
- Drive improvements in financial systems and workflows
- Serve as primary contact for external partners (auditors, tax professionals, banking institutions) to ensure compliance and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor (HD) or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
- 4-5 years of experience in finance, controlling, audit, or related roles
- Senior finance or business controlling experience
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Management reporting and financial analysis skills
- Statutory reporting, audits, and compliance with IFRS and Danish accounting regulations
- Experience working closely with senior management
- Experience with cross-functional and strategic initiatives
- Comfortable taking responsibility for complex financial topics
- Trusted sparring partner to CFO and senior stakeholders
