Role Summary

Responsibilities

  • Develop projects, features, backend services, and improvements in a performant and well-tested way
  • Build and maintain APIs and backend services using Node.js
  • Develop Shopify apps with both frontend and backend functionality
  • Work closely with project management and other stakeholders (Backend, UX, etc.)
  • Write code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, security, and best practices
  • Consistently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance
  • Collaborate on larger full-stack projects
  • Contribute to and follow workflow processes with the development team
  • Advocate for improvements to project quality, performance, and scalability
  • Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity across frontend and backend
  • Provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate developers

Requirements

  • Professional experience with Next.js, Remix.js, or another modern JavaScript framework (Vue, Angular, Ember, etc.)
  • Professional experience with Node.js and building APIs or backend services
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
  • At least 1 year of professional working experience
  • Experience using Git in a professional environment
  • Solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts
  • Experience with e-commerce and Shopify is preferable (including Shopify apps)
  • Experience with performance, scalability, and optimization problems
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
