The Head of Project Management role requires extensive experience in international project and portfolio management within a production environment, specifically in the steel industry. The role demands proficiency in establishing and maintaining consistent project management systems, processes, and governance frameworks, including PTA structures, stage-gates, quality management, and ERP systems related to production, capacity, and quality. The candidate should be adept at administrative and process handling from initial calculation and offer preparation through to project handover and closure, ensuring alignment between sales, projects, and production. Strong cross-cultural communication skills and professional fluency in Danish and English are required. The leadership style should be clear, action-oriented, and collaborative, with a focus on coaching and developing project managers, defining roles and competencies, and fostering well-being. The position offers a strategic and hands-on role with significant influence over project management direction, processes, and organizational development across multiple sites. About the role
- International coordination and project management across the organization
- Overall responsibility for managing BSB Industry's projects at all sites (DK, PL, US)
- Delegation of projects across countries
- Implementation of systems and processes for consistent project management, PTA structure, quality management, and reporting
- Administrative/process handling from calculation to production
- Leadership of the project department in Denmark (currently two project managers)
Responsibilities
Capacity and Portfolio Management
- Oversee capacity and workload across sites (DK, PL, US)
- Prioritize and allocate resources and projects across the organization
- Overall responsibility for project portfolio progress, risks, and finances
- Report project performance to management
Processes, Systems, and Governance
- Establish and maintain project models, stage-gates, and best practices
- Responsible for PTA structure, documentation standards, and quality management
- Implement and optimize systems, tools, and processes for project management
Administrative/Process Handling (from calculation to production)
- Manage and coordinate the calculation process
- Prepare calculations and offers in collaboration with relevant departments
- Clarify customer requirements, technical solutions, and assumptions
- Handover won projects to production
- Prepare or quality-check project, resource, and time plans with project managers
- Ensure correct delivery and closure of projects
Leadership
- Personnel management of project managers (recruitment, development, performance, well-being)
- Define roles, responsibilities, and competency requirements in the project organization
- Sparring and coaching of project managers in complex or critical projects
Requirements
- Solid experience with project and portfolio management in a production company
- Comfortable working between sales, projects, and production
- Ability to handle different cultures
- Strong understanding of project finances, including calculations and post-calculations
- Structured and data-driven approach with overview, prioritization, and progress
- Experience establishing and ensuring consistent project processes, PTA structures, and use of ERP systems related to production, capacity, and quality
- Clear, action-oriented, and collaborative leadership style
- Motivated by creating coherence, improvements, and business results close to both projects and production
- Professional proficiency in Danish and English (spoken and written)
