Helper 12h Shifts Alternating Day/Awake Nights

Role Summary

• Assist a 36-year-old tetraplegic man (chest down, some arm movement, no hand control)
• No medical-related requirements
• English preferred (Danish also spoken)
• Born in Ukraine, living in Denmark

Shifts

• 12-hour shifts: Day (08:00–20:00) and Awake Night (20:00–08:00)
• Approximately 50/50 split between day and night shifts each month
• Shifts planned 1–2 months ahead
• Flexibility possible for special arrangements
• Expected to cover extra shifts if coworkers are sick

Responsibilities

• Hoist from bed and assist with toilet-related activities
• Change catheter (must not be squeamish)
• Prepare tea/coffee and assist with smoking
• Cleaning, cooking, feeding, and general apartment upkeep
• Occasionally help with dressing and manual wheelchair outings

Requirements

• Willingness to learn catheter care
• Not squeamish
• Flexible and reliable

Nice to Have

• Experience with personal assistance (not required)
