About the role
Role Summary
- Work as a chef/kitchen assistant at Glacier Lodge Eqi in the Arctic wilderness
- Prepare high-quality meals using Greenlandic ingredients with a view of the calving glacier
- Seasonal position: June 1st to mid-September 2026
- Unique summer experience in a remote lodge with 23 cabins and 6 cozy huts, 80 km north of Ilulissat
- The lodge is only accessible by boat or helicopter; limited phone and Wi-Fi connectivity
- Days off can be spent in Eqi or Ilulissat
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistently high quality of all meals for guests
- Main tasks: preparing sandwiches for lunch and hot meals for dinner, as well as breakfast preparation for the next day
- Serve up to 70 guests: breakfast (served by guides), lunch (sandwiches), and dinner (multi-course meals)
- Collaborate with a young team of 12-14 people, including kitchen staff, waiters, guides, and the lodge manager
- Maintain a high standard in the kitchen while fostering a friendly and open atmosphere
- Focus on local Greenlandic ingredients: reindeer, musk ox, Greenlandic lamb, and fish
