Key skills

This R&D Student Assistant role at Levitate Technology focuses on supporting research and development efforts in high-performance prosthetics for lower-limb amputees. Candidates should have hands-on experience with prototyping, product testing, and technical development, including practical skills in fabrication tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting. Proficiency in CAD software like Fusion 360 or CREO is required, alongside experience with finite element analysis (FEA/FEM) tools such as Abaqus, Ansys, or Comsol. A solid understanding of materials, mechanics, and prototyping techniques is essential, complemented by strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The role involves assisting with data collection, analysis, technical documentation, and collaboration with engineers and designers to refine product designs. Practical experience in building, assembling, or crafting—such as carpentry, metalwork, or boat building—is highly valued, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in lab or workshop environments. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary for communication and reporting. The position suits students in mechanical engineering, production technology, biomechanical engineering, or related technical disciplines with a focus on hands-on prototyping. Benefits include exposure to advanced prosthetic technology, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to integrate a thesis project within the role. Overall, the candidate should be a technically skilled, detail-oriented individual capable of independent and team-based work in a dynamic R&D setting focused on innovative mobility solutions.
