Role Summary
- Join VIKING, a world-leading supplier of safety products, solutions, and services to the global maritime industry
- Temporary position as Global Sourcing Assistant in Arendal, Norway
- Support the Global Sourcing team, managing supplier base and ensuring stable product supply
- Reports to the Global Sourcing Manager in Arendal
Responsibilities
- Independent sourcing responsibility for selected spend categories and suppliers (local and global)
- Negotiate, manage contracts, and follow up with suppliers
- Source new suppliers and products according to VIKING’s quality, Code of Conduct, and Terms and Conditions
- Initiate and report on cost-saving initiatives locally and globally
- Update master data and handle day-to-day sourcing tasks
- Collect and coordinate prices, lead times, terms, and product information from suppliers
- Participate in global projects and follow up on sourcing tasks
- Process NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
- Prepare reports and analyze spend data
Requirements
- Higher relevant education at bachelor or master level (relevant work experience can replace formal education)
- Relevant experience within sourcing is an advantage
- Experience and genuine interest in ERP systems/SAP is an advantage
- Experienced user of Excel
- Structured, eager to learn, and keen to develop competences
- Experience working in a global environment
