This student assistant position focuses on nanoparticle assembly for optical sensing and nanomachines, providing hands-on research experience in programmable nanomachines and light-responsive optical systems. Candidates will engage in nanoparticle self-assembly, nanofabrication, and optical actuation techniques, working primarily with hybrid colloidal gold and silver nanoparticles. Key technical skills include CAPA and sCAPA methods for creating structures that function as SERS sensors, optical gears, and actuating nanotransducers. Responsibilities encompass supporting template fabrication using electron beam lithography and PDMS replica molding, preparation and functionalization of AuNPs and AgNPs, and execution of cleanroom processes such as spin coating, metal deposition, and lift-off. Additionally, candidates will assist in optical experiments involving laser-based studies and perform microscopy characterization with subsequent data analysis. The role requires familiarity with laboratory and cleanroom environments and a foundational background in nanotechnology, materials science, physics, chemistry, or related disciplines. Strong interest in nanofabrication, optical systems, and nanoscale device applications is essential. The position is designed for enrolled students at the University of Southern Denmark, emphasizing practical competencies in nanofabrication techniques, cleanroom protocols, and optical characterization methods relevant to advanced nanoscale research and sensor development.

Responsibilities

- Conduct microscopy characterization and data analysis
Requirements

- Must be enrolled as a student at SDU
