About the role

Role Summary

  • Support undergraduate U.S. students during their exchange in Copenhagen
  • Act as a bridge between students and administration at DIS
  • Build relationships and provide guidance throughout the semester abroad

Responsibilities

  • Help students create healthy communities and develop life/interpersonal skills
  • Collaborate with Housing & Student Life on events and projects
  • Support students with practical matters (e.g., booking appointments, addressing conflicts)
  • Work on a cross-cultural team dedicated to the DIS mission and values
  • Plan and execute activities (introductory meetings, community building sessions)
  • Host 2-3 evening dinners per month at student housing sites
  • Coordinate administrative tasks (cleaning rosters, expense claims)
  • Respond to student emails about practical questions and community building
  • Guide and mediate conflicts between students

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing plans
  • Optimism and a positive outlook
  • Comfortable engaging with students and having difficult conversations
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with exchange programs or group living (e.g., housing collectives)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Legally able to work in Denmark (no work visa provided)
  • No specific education required; strong social skills and interest in young adult challenges are most important
