The Head of IT role requires a seasoned leader with over five years of experience managing IT operations and development teams, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building capabilities. The candidate must have a solid technical foundation, particularly with Microsoft enterprise technologies such as Azure and Microsoft 365, alongside proficiency in managing networks, servers, databases, and operating systems. Experience in overseeing infrastructure modernization initiatives focused on scalability, security, and continuous improvement is essential. The role demands expertise in implementing ITIL-based service management practices and the ability to integrate IT operations with development functions effectively. Strong strategic skills are needed to execute new IT strategies in collaboration with Technology & Operations management, build robust operating models, and lead user adoption and change management processes. A relevant degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required, complemented by professional English communication skills and an empathetic, grounded leadership style. While hands-on technical work is not expected, the ability to guide and support IT professionals is critical. Experience in the financial sector is preferred but not mandatory. The position involves managing a growing IT department, emphasizing collaboration, security, scalability, and business alignment. The role supports impactful global projects, requiring a leader capable of fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and flexible workplace culture within an international environment.
About the role
Role Summary
- Lead the newly unified IT function at Impact Fund Denmark
- Oversee IT operations, application, and data management
- Build a collaborative, high-performing team delivering secure, scalable, business-aligned solutions
- Support impactful projects globally (e.g., forestry in Paraguay, solar energy in Brazil, health clinics in Bangladesh)
Responsibilities
- Lead integration of IT operations and development
- Recruit and onboard new IT team members
- Oversee continuous infrastructure modernization
- Implement ITIL-based service management practices
- Execute new IT strategy in collaboration with T&O management
- Build strong structures and a robust operating model
- Lead user adoption and change management
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience leading IT operations and development teams
- Strong technical foundation; able to lead IT professionals without being hands-on
- Solid understanding of Microsoft enterprise technologies (e.g., Azure, M365)
- Proficient in managing networks, servers, databases, and operating systems
- Experience overseeing infrastructure modernization for scalability and security
- Relevant degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- Professional English communication skills
- Empathic, grounded, and experienced leader
- Ideally, background in the financial sector
