The HV Technician role in Offshore Wind service demands vocational-level education as an Electrician with solid experience in Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) electrical systems, including cables, transformers, and switchgear. Candidates should have practical expertise performing service and maintenance on offshore substations, wind turbines, and oil & gas drilling units, handling electrical systems ranging from Low Voltage up to 220kV. Key technical competencies include testing and servicing protection devices such as relays and circuit breakers, conducting special periodic surveys on drilling rigs and drill ships, and documented switching operations on high voltage equipment, which is advantageous. Safety is paramount, requiring a strong safety mindset and completion of Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training including Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) certificates. The role involves extensive offshore work with over 100 travel days annually, primarily across European customer sites, necessitating valid EU work permits and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. This mid-level position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the global energy transition in a supportive, safety-focused environment within the renewables sector. Candidates must be prepared to upload all relevant certifications and documentation to demonstrate compliance and qualification for offshore electrical service activities.
