Role highlights
Internship
Permanent
Intern
On-site
This position is a full-time (37 hours/week), one-year internship starting February 1, 2026, at the Biomedicinsk Institut, University of Copenhagen, within the Faculty of Health Sciences. It is designed for laboratory technician trainees who have completed the theoretical part of their laboratory technician education. The role involves practical training in laboratory operations, focusing on immunological and metabolic experiments using cell cultures and laboratory animals. Key technical competencies include working with proteomics and immunological techniques such as ELISA, Western blotting, quantitative PCR (QPCR), flow cytometry, recombinant protein production, and immunizations. The research context includes immunotherapy related to metabolism and cancer, with a focus on virus genes activated by stress, cancer, radiation, chemotherapy, viral infections, aging, and metabolic syndrome. The candidate will gain hands-on experience in advanced laboratory methods relevant to biomedical research, particularly in immunology and metabolism. Employment terms follow collective agreements for laboratory technicians with a fixed one-year contract. Applicants should demonstrate foundational laboratory skills, familiarity with molecular biology and immunology techniques, and a commitment to learning practical laboratory procedures in a research environment. The position requires submission of a CV detailing education, methods/techniques, previous employment, language skills, and relevant qualifications. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical competencies in cutting-edge biomedical research techniques within a university research group specializing in immunotherapy and metabolic disease.
