About the role

About Us

  • The Dost lab investigates mechanisms of lung regeneration and disease using primary human lung organoid models
  • Focus on understanding lung stem cell response to injury and disease
  • Develops and applies human alveolar and airway organoid models
  • Aims to identify therapeutic avenues for restoring lung regeneration in diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Role Summary

  • 2-year full-time position (37 hours/week)
  • Key role in setting up and organizing a new research group
  • Employment at Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, NNF Center of Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW), University of Copenhagen
  • Start date: March 15 or April 1 (or by agreement)

Responsibilities

  • Establish workflows, protocols, and databases for the lab
  • Assist in generating and maintaining organoid lines from human lung tissue
  • Contribute to building a biobank
  • Participate in research projects involving organoid assays, genetic engineering, drug screening, and related approaches
  • Collaborate closely with other group members

Requirements

  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., Laboratory technician degree) and/or MSc-level training
  • Experience with cell/tissue culture
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Good interpersonal and English communication skills
  • High motivation, reliability, and sense of responsibility
  • Enjoyment of international and diverse work environments

Terms of Salary and Employment

  • Laboratory technician: Salary according to agreement between Danish Ministry of Taxation and OAO/HK STAT (salary group 3)
  • Lab manager/academic level: Salary according to agreement between Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), based on seniority
  • Supplement may be negotiated depending on qualifications
