The role of Mitarbeiter Betriebsüberwachung (Operations Monitoring Staff) at the Puttgarden ferry terminal requires strong operational coordination and leadership skills within a maritime transport environment. Key responsibilities include managing ferry traffic on the Puttgarden–Rødby route in close cooperation with the Traffic Tower and captains, overseeing terminal operations, and leading on-duty terminal personnel. The position demands proficiency in operational planning, ensuring safe and timely ferry docking and departure, as well as supervising loading and unloading processes while adhering to schedules. Handling hazardous goods transport (trucks) and maintaining terminal and harbor surveillance are critical safety-related tasks. The role also serves as the central contact for accident and emergency reporting for both German and Danish vessels along the Vogelfluglinie, requiring prompt alarm activation and initial hazard mitigation measures. Effective communication skills are essential for managing irregularities and operational disruptions, including conducting radio communications in the nautical VHF band, partly in English. Candidates must demonstrate a self-reliant, structured work approach, strong communication, and assertiveness, with a willingness to work shifts and weekends. Good knowledge of MS Office and English language skills are mandatory.
