Postdoctoral Researcher: Molecular Electrocatalysts for PtX applications
Role highlights
Full Time
Permanent
Independent
On-site
This postdoctoral researcher role requires advanced expertise in molecular electrocatalysis, focusing on the design, synthesis, and characterization of transition metal coordination compounds for PtX applications. The candidate must have strong experience in organic synthesis and coordination chemistry, particularly developing synthetic routes for novel chelating and bifunctional ligands. Proficiency in electrochemistry and electrocatalysis is essential, including performing and analyzing electrocatalytic experiments involving gaseous reagents or products. The role demands solid knowledge of structural and spectroscopic characterization techniques such as advanced spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, fluorescence methods, and analytical chemistry tools including GCMS, HPLC, and ECMS. Additional competencies include designing immobilization strategies for catalysts and collaborating on mechanistic and computational studies. The position involves supervising undergraduate and graduate students and some teaching responsibilities, indicating leadership and communication skills. The research environment is interdisciplinary, bridging inorganic, coordination, organometallic, and enzyme chemistry, with access to state-of-the-art facilities within the CAPeX Pioneer Center. Overall, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a robust background in synthetic chemistry, electrochemical methods, and multiple analytical techniques, combined with teamwork and mentoring abilities in an academic research setting.
