Responsibilities
- Lead development of features for Fishbrain’s website in Next.js and React
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to quickly bring growth ideas to life
- Contribute to backend systems and APIs in Ruby on Rails
- Maintain and keep existing services running smoothly
- Ship fast, learn from experiments, and iterate to scale what works
- Balance rapid development with maintainable, high-quality code
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional frontend experience with Next.js, React, or similar frameworks
- 2+ years of backend experience with Ruby on Rails, GoLang, Python, or NodeJS
- Professional experience with TypeScript and Tailwind
- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals, measuring web vitals, and improving performance
- Experience with rendering strategies like Static Site Generation and Incremental Static Regeneration
- Proven ability to drive projects and features to completion independently
- Product mindset: care about the “why” behind features and enjoy experimenting to drive growth
