The role demands expertise in structured problem-solving techniques like FMEA and 8D to address internal non-conformance reports and external complaints effectively. Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems and familiarity with laboratory work are essential. The engineer will lead LEAN events, coordinate cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive quality, cost, and process improvements, and ensure compliance with safety standards, including SDS and country-specific labeling. Strong project management skills and a continuous improvement mindset are important. The role requires excellent collaboration skills, fluency in Danish and English, and the ability to prioritize tasks while contributing innovative ideas. The position involves supporting production lines and R&D projects, handling supplier changes and obsolete components by selecting and testing alternatives, and maintaining high safety, compliance, and quality standards throughout the consumable product lifecycle. Overall, the role demands a detail-oriented, systematic, analytical, and pragmatic engineer capable of working effectively within a small, experienced team and engaging with multiple stakeholders across functions.

About the Team
- Join the Consumables Engineering team in the Engineering department
- Team of 2 experienced colleagues responsible for maintaining Struers’ consumables, ensuring safety, quality, and manufacturing
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing, especially with the R&D Consumable team
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, quality, and reliability of Struers’ consumables throughout the product lifecycle, including production support and R&D projects
- Manage all phases of product lifecycle management: change requests, development, substitutions, design reviews, testing, verification, validation, and documentation
- Coordinate activities internally and with suppliers for quality, cost, and product/process improvement projects
- Chair LEAN events to plan, validate, and implement consumables design changes and processes
- Apply structured problem-solving methods (FMEA, 8D) to resolve internal NCRs and external complaints
- Maintain high safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Handle supplier changes and obsolete components by finding, selecting, and testing new components/materials
- Design, plan, execute, and document verification & validation activities
- Support production lines, R&D projects, and implement improvements
- Ensure product compliance, including SDS and country-specific labelling
Requirements
- Degree in chemical engineering, process technology, or material technology
- Substantial experience with consumable production, quality, and design for manufacturing
- Professional track record with various processing technologies and methods (e.g. coating, heating/baking, lamination, mixing, filling, conveying)
- Experience or interest in project management
- Experience with production support and continuous improvement
- Experience with PLM systems
- Familiarity with laboratory work
- Fluent in Danish and English
- Detail-oriented, systematic, analytical, and pragmatic
- Outgoing and able to collaborate with different functions and stakeholders
- Able to prioritize work and contribute ideas
