Software Engineer

Role Summary

• Join Normative's mission to accelerate the transition to a net-zero world
• Build science-based carbon accounting software and provide tailored advice to help companies reduce their carbon footprints
• Be part of a curious and driven R&D team focused on backend craft and data-driven solutions for climate impact

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve Python-based backend services
• Work with databases and APIs handling complex sustainability data
• Collaborate with Sustainability Engineers, product managers, and frontend engineers to deliver features end-to-end
• Improve software development processes, including CI/CD pipelines, testing, and monitoring
• Shape the intersection of software engineering and sustainability in a fast-growing domain
• Take ownership of technical decisions and drive them forward with your team
• Learn and share knowledge in a collaborative environment

Requirements

• Solid experience working with Python in a production setting
• Good understanding of web services and databases
• Curiosity about data and willingness to work with the Python data stack
• Proactive and collaborative mindset

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Typescript or frontend development
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization
• Experience with data-heavy products or sustainability tech
• Enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge

Location

• Offices in Stockholm, London, and Copenhagen
• This role is based in the Copenhagen office
• No relocation or VISA support available for this position
