About the role
Wafer Production Team Leader
Role Summary
- Oversee and coordinate wafer production activities in a cleanroom environment
- Hands-on leadership role guiding a team of production engineers
- Ensure high-quality output, smooth production flow, and adherence to safety and process standards
- Collaborate with process engineers, material specialists, and equipment engineers to ensure efficient and timely wafer production
- Combine technical expertise in microfabrication with strong team leadership and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily wafer production operations and cleanroom activities, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery
- Oversee key wafer fabrication steps and process execution
- Plan and allocate resources for all wafer-level production activities
- Monitor, report, and resolve production blockers, deviations, and process issues
- Collaborate with the Process Engineering team to drive process control and continuous improvement
- Manage wafer logistics and cleanroom inventory with the Material Specialist
- Track wafer production WIP using MES systems, Jira, and Confluence
- Coordinate with Equipment Engineers to ensure production tools and systems remain in optimal condition
- Lead, coach, and develop the team, providing feedback and fostering a safe, positive, and efficient work environment
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and cleanroom operational standards
- Support 5S activities, production capacity planning, and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 2–3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience in a production or cleanroom environment
- Proven experience in semiconductor or microfabrication cleanroom operations, with strong process understanding
- Hands-on expertise in one or more of: lithography, deposition (PVD, CVD, ALD), etching (wet or dry), thermal processing, or metrology
- Proficiency with MES systems, Jira, and standard office tools (MS Office or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and data-driven process monitoring
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, EHS standards, and lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience motivating and developing a cross-functional team
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Analytical and structured mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-precision production environment
